Jennifer Harman

Jennifer Harman is probably the top woman poker player to stack chips on the felt. She is one of the most consecutive winning female players at some of the biggest cash games around. CardPlayer Magazine has done interviews with her about her success as a female player and all the emotion that encompasses her with her achievements. Jennifer Harman’s husband, Marco Traniello is also a professional poker player who has lots of achievements under his belt. Marco Traniello and Jennifer Harman’s twins are a lot to handle on top of all the poker she plays.

Jennifer first learned the game by watching her father as he played with his friends in home games. Her father was on a losing streak one night and thought it would be funny to have her sit in for him. She ended up doing phenomenally well and soon after her father would come to her with questions regarding the game and proper plays.

Born in Reno, Nevada, Harman was raised alongside all of the large poker rooms, including the Bellagio. She slowly worked her bankroll up and now plays at one of the biggest games at the Bellagio, the $4000/$8000 mixed game. Here she plays with other poker greats like Doyle Brunson and Phil Ivey. She is a regular winner at these games, proving that she is more than just some girl; she is a girl that can play great cards. She also took 2nd place at the WSOP Circuit Championship Event at the Rio.

Jennifer Harman and the World Series of Poker

Jennifer won her first bracelet in 2000 at the 2-7 low ball event. The funny part about her winning this bracelet is that she had never played the game before the event. Howard Lederer gave Harman a 5 minute coaching session that was seemingly some of the best advice ever, because it led her to her first WSOP bracelet.

Jennifer won her second bracelet playing in the Limit Hold’em event in 2002. This crowned her the first woman to win 2 World Series of Poker bracelets. Harman has won almost $700,000 in WSOP events alone and is still climbing the ladder looking for her third.

Jennifer Harman and the World Poker Tour

Jennifer has also done well in the World Poker Tour. She took 4th at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic. She has placed 5th at the inaugural Professional Poker Tour. Other than these two great finishes she hasn’t played very much in the WPT.
