Dan Harrington

If you are looking for one of the wildest craziest poker players around then you are looking for “Action Dan” Dan Harrington. Actually this is quite the opposite. While Dan Harrington did give himself the nickname “Action Dan” he is quite the opposite of that. Dan Harrington is a well known poker player who is best known for having insanely tight starting hand requirements. I guess he just thought it would be funny. Harrington has become an icon in the poker industry. He is known to some as “The Godfather of Poker” being as his teachings have leaded so many to victory.

Dan Harrington was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and now resides in Santa Monica, California. Harrington is a former backgammon champion and chess champion. He also owns his own company titled Anchor Loans where he gives out loans for all sorts of different things.

Harrington and the World Series of Poker

Harrington has only two World Series of Poker Bracelets, which he won in 1995. Harrington won a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em event as one of his bracelet winnings. The other bracelet he won the same year in the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship main event earning $1,000,000. These two times along with the other 8 times Harrington has made it to the money account for $3,491,513 of his total $6,600,000 total earnings in his live tournament career.
